Mold-Making, Tool and Die Fabrication

Management and Staff refer to this as the heart of the operation. It entails designing, building and maintaining of our customer's tools. The company offers a complete package to clients seeking custom production. At the front end of the shop is the design centre where technologists and design specialists work with sophisticated computer software.

In a typical scenario, Drader staff meets with customers to discuss their production needs. Material selection, part function, anticipated volume, fit and finish and required part costs are openly discussed with the customer. Drader's experience at actually running the tools they have made is an important design aspect because Drader understands the mechanics of plastics. They know what runs well and what will not. This knowledge base is incorporated into the customer's design. Customers can e-mail their designs directly to Drader's design team. This efficient method allows the team to look at the file, make calculations quickly and produce timely quotations.

Most customers use prototypes to prove concepts before they make commitment to the actual part production. When the project approval comes, the customer's design is translated and the tool is built.

Drader has just under a hundred years combined experience on our mold making floor. Experience is good, but our policy of training and continuous education ensures our staff are using current technology. The secret to a good plastic part is a well designed and manufactured tool. This combination of qualified personnel and the use of high quality steel from long term suppliers such as Uddeholm assures you will receive the quality you deserve.
